1. يا حادياً للمرحله

    الزادُ قبل الراحله

    O camel-driver for the journey,

    provisions before the riding camel!

  2. يا سوء ما قدمته

    والنفس مني غافله

    How evil is what I have sent ahead,

    while my soul within me is heedless.

  3. لم ينهني ذكر الحسا

    ب ولا رهبت زلازله

    Remembrance of the Reckoning did not restrain me,

    nor did I fear its quakes.

  4. وتحكم الشيطان في فما

    اتقيت حبائله

    And Satan ruled over me, so I did not

    guard against his snares.

  5. قال الذي يحدو استعذ

    باللَه واتل البسمله

    The camel-driver said: “Seek refuge

    in God, and recite ‘In the name of God.’

  6. قم نق قلبك من هوى الدنيا

    وخل الأمر له

    Rise, cleanse your heart of love for this world,

    and leave the matter to Him.

  7. وأجهد لفرضك أده

    ثم اجتهد في النافله

    And strive for your prescribed duty—fulfill it,

    then strive in voluntary worship.

  8. فإذا دأبت على الخلا

    ق السمح سر في القافله

    Then, if you persist in conduct

    that is gracious, set out with the caravan.”
