أَمطِريrain down ياO سحائِبَclouds الفَضلِof bounty ماas much as شِئwish (word continues)
أَمطِري يا سحائِبَ الفَضلِ ما شِئ
تِyou (feminine; completes 'you wish') وَفيضيand pour forth علىover الرُباthe hills وَالوِهادِand the hollows
تِ وَفيضي على الرُبا وَالوِهادِ
Rain, O clouds of bounty, as much as you wish,
Rain down favors, O clouds, as much as you wish,
And pour over the hills and hollows.
And overflow upon the hills and meadows.
وَاِترُكيand leave كلَّevery عاطلٍunadorned person حاليَadorned الصَدthe breast (word continues)
وَاِترُكي كلَّ عاطلٍ حاليَ الصَد
رِcompletion of 'the breast' قَريرَcontent العَينَينboth eyes فيin كلِّevery وادِvalley
رِ قَريرَ العَينَين في كلِّ وادِ
And leave every unadorned man with his breast adorned,
And leave every jobless person whose provision has been straitened,
His eyes at peace in every valley.
With eyes tearing in every valley.
لنwill not تَزينيyou adorn أَحقَّworthier منthan جيدِthe neck of مطراMutran (name continues)
لن تَزيني أَحقَّ من جيدِ مطرا
نَcompletion of 'Mutran' وَأَولىand more deserving منthan صَدرهِhis breast بِاِفتِقادِof attention
نَ وَأَولى من صَدرهِ بِاِفتِقادِ
You will adorn no neck worthier than Mutran's,
You will not adorn anyone more rightful than Matran,
Nor any breast more deserving of attention than his.
Nor anyone more deserving of being visited than his chest.
قَلمٌa pen تَصدرُissue الحقائِقُthe truths عنهfrom it
قَلمٌ تَصدرُ الحقائِقُ عنه
حالياتٍadorned فيin أَجملِthe fairest الأَبرادِcloaks
حالياتٍ في أَجملِ الأَبرادِ
A pen from which truths issue,
A pen from which realities emerge,
Adorned in the fairest cloaks;
In the most beautiful presentations.
وَلِسانٌand a tongue يُمسىis at evening يُدَبِّرهُguides it فِكthought (word continues)
وَلِسانٌ يُمسى يُدَبِّرهُ فِك
رٌcompletion of 'thought' كبيرُgreat in النُهىunderstanding كبيرُgreat in المُرادِpurpose
رٌ كبيرُ النُهى كبيرُ المُرادِ
And a tongue guided at evening by a mind
And a tongue whose enormous intended purpose and prohibition
Great in understanding, great in purpose.
Are directed by great thought.
إيهgo on! عَبّاسُAbbas شُقَّblaze نهجاًa path جديداnew
إيه عَبّاسُ شُقَّ نهجاً جديدا
كلَّevery يومٍday إِلىto ذُراthe summits of الأَمجادِglories
كلَّ يومٍ إِلى ذُرا الأَمجادِ
Go on, Abbas! Blaze a new path
O Abbas you paved a new path,
Each day to the summits of glory.
Every day to the peaks of glories.
وَتَخَيَّرand choose لِلسَّعدfor good fortune أَمثالَthe likes of مَطراMutran (name continues)
وَتَخَيَّر لِلسَّعد أَمثالَ مَطرا
نَcompletion of 'Mutran' أَحقِّmost deserving الأَنامِmankind بِالإِسعادِof being made happy
نَ أَحقِّ الأَنامِ بِالإِسعادِ
And choose for good fortune men like Mutran,
And you chose for Sa'd the like of Matran,
Who, among all mankind, most deserves to be made happy.
The most rightful of people for prosperity.
وَأِنِلهُمand grant them مِمّاfrom what تَصوغُfashion المَعاليnoble deeds
وَأِنِلهُم مِمّا تَصوغُ المَعالي
نِعَماًfavors لاnot تُمَنُّare held over their recipients فيupon الأَجيادthe necks
نِعَماً لا تُمَنُّ في الأَجياد
And grant them, from what noble deeds fashion,
And grant them from what you form of sublimities,
Favors upon their necks, never held over them.
Blessings that are not withheld from the generous.
باركmay bless اللَهُGod فيكَin you فَالمُلكُfor the kingdom ماas long as دمremain (word continues)
بارك اللَهُ فيكَ فَالمُلكُ ما دم
تَyou (completes 'you remain') رفيعُlofty الذُراthe summits رَفيعُlofty العِمادthe pillars
تَ رفيعُ الذُرا رَفيعُ العِماد
May God bless you; for the kingdom, as long as you live,
May Allah bless you, for the kingdom - as long as you are -
Is lofty in its summits, lofty in its pillars.
Is of high ambition and high pillars.
