أَشَوقي لقد نِلتَ ما تَشتَهي

أَشَوقي لقد نِلتَ ما تَشتَهي

بِفَضلِ أَميرٍ رَفيعِ الذُرا

بِفَضلِ أَميرٍ رَفيعِ الذُرا

O Shawqi, you have indeed attained what you desire,

My longing, you have attained what you desire

Through the favor of a prince of lofty summits.

By the grace of a noble prince of high pedigree

وَمن كانَ مَمدوحُه في السَماء

وَمن كانَ مَمدوحُه في السَماء

تَسَنَّمَ مَتنَ السَنا مِنبَرا

تَسَنَّمَ مَتنَ السَنا مِنبَرا

And he whose subject of praise is in the heavens

And he whose praises are sung in the heavens

Mounts the back of radiance as a pulpit.

Has ascended to glory's summit
