آلَO people of مِصرٍEgypt ليسَthere are not فيكُمamong you منany رجالmen
Indeed, I ask God's forgiveness for you.
I ask Allah's forgiveness for you
O people of Egypt, there are no men among you.
People of Egypt, among you there are no men
فَلَّblunted غربيmy edge أرىI see منfrom نَومِكُمyour slumber
وَرِضاكُمand your contentment بِوجودِwith the presence of الاِحتِلالthe occupation
My edge is blunted, I see, by your slumber
Alas, I see your deep slumber in the west
And your contentment with the occupation's presence.
And your acceptance of the occupation
بحَّgrew hoarse صَوتيmy voice داعِياًcalling out مُستَنهِضاًurging others to rise
صارِخاًshouting حتىuntil تولّانيovertook me الكلالexhaustion
My voice grew hoarse as I called, urging you to rise,
My voice cries out, rousing and inciting
Shouting until exhaustion overcame me.
Shouting until exhaustion takes me
لمdid not أجِدI find فيكُمamong you فتىًa young man ذاpossessing هِمَّةٍresolve
إنif عداattacked الدَهرُFate عداattacked أَوصالَor charged (apparently joined words) صالcharged
I found no young man among you with resolve,
Among you I find no youth with resolve
Who would attack if Fate attacked, or charge if it charged.
If time passes by, it passes limbs that are sound

May God have mercy on a minister who was pressed
May Allah have mercy on a minister named Samah
By his people to do what he would not accept, and so resigned.
Who led his people without accepting what displeased him, so he resigned
