Console the noble, and share their bereavement;
for they, of all people, most deserve consolation.

and no blame rests on one who obeys the command.

They are those who have crossed valleys of sorrow,
where a consoler would lose his way if he journeyed through their reaches.

Whoever saw them in their beds would think them
drunk—yet not from wine jar or cup.

Their calamity is too great to have
any breadth but anguish, or any length but despair.

كانَتthey were كباراًgreat فَأَمسَتand then became طيَّwithin the folds of أَرماسِgraves
كانَت كباراً فَأَمسَت طيَّ أَرماسِ
Was your day among us anything but a day of hopes,
once great, but now folded away in graves?
