مَقابرُ من ماتوا مواطنُ راحةٍ

مَقابرُ من ماتوا مواطنُ راحةٍ

فلا تكُ إثرَ الهالِكينَ جَزوعا

فلا تكُ إثرَ الهالِكينَ جَزوعا

The graves of those who died are places of rest;

So do not be distraught over those who have perished.

وَإن تَبكِ مَيتاً ضمَّهُ القَبرُ فادَّخِر

وَإن تَبكِ مَيتاً ضمَّهُ القَبرُ فادَّخِر

لِمَيتٍ عَلى قيدِ الحياةِ دُموعا

لِمَيتٍ عَلى قيدِ الحياةِ دُموعا

And if you weep for a dead man whom the grave has embraced, save

Some tears for a dead man who is still alive.
