ملأَت زوايا البيت بنتُ محمّد

نوراً وخامَر ساكِنيهِ سُرورُ

نوراً وخامَر ساكِنيهِ سُرورُ

Muhammad’s daughter filled the corners of the house

with light, and joy suffused its inhabitants.

وَشدا بشيرُ السَعد فيه مؤرِّخا

وَشدا بشيرُ السَعد فيه مؤرِّخا

لِوَفِيَّةٍ من نورِ بَدرٍ نورُ

لِوَفِيَّةٍ من نورِ بَدرٍ نورُ

And the herald of good fortune sang there, marking the date:

“For Wafiyya, a light from the light of a full moon.”
