هَلَّdawned بِالخَيراتِwith blessings عامٌa year مُشرِقٌradiant
هَلَّ بِالخَيراتِ عامٌ مُشرِقٌ
أَصبَحَتbecame أَنوارُهits lights فيin مِصرَEgypt كُبرىgreat
أَصبَحَت أَنوارُه في مِصرَ كُبرى
A radiant year has dawned with blessings;
A year of blessings dawns
Its lights have grown great in Egypt.
Its lights have risen over Egypt the Great
قَلتُI said لمّاwhen جاءَcame فيin تاريخِهits date
قَلتُ لمّا جاءَ في تاريخِه
ياO أَباfather of العَبّاسal-ʿAbbās أَبشِرrejoice عامُa year of بُشرىglad tidings
يا أَبا العَبّاس أَبشِر عامُ بُشرى
I said, when it came to recording its date:
When its date came in history
O Abū al-ʿAbbās, rejoice—a year of glad tidings!
I said: O Abu Al-Abbas receive good tidings, a year of glad tidings
