Where is Sabri? Who remembers Sabri today
Where is my patience now, who remembers my patience
After years and months of seclusion?
After years of isolation and months
اِسأَلواask الشِعرَpoetry فهوَfor it أَعلمُknows best هلّاwhy not?
اِسأَلوا الشِعرَ فهوَ أَعلمُ هلّا
أَكَلَتهُdevoured him الأَسماكُthe fish طيَّwithin the folds of بُحورِseas
أَكَلَتهُ الأَسماكُ طيَّ بُحورِ
Ask poetry, for it knows best—why did
