Cousins, how swiftly blame comes from you

to us, though we neither wrong you nor act unjustly.

Cousins, indeed the riding camels, bearing their riders,

when a kinsman mistreats them, depart at evening and dawn.

Cousins, indeed we turn back to you

with our forbearance amid a terrifying, grievous calamity.

And we drink murky water rather than incur your displeasure,

though clear water and turbid water are not alike.

I see our people do not forgive our sins,

yet whenever they sin, we are forgiving toward them.
