I am a man whose character distance does not corrupt.
I am a man whom solitude does not spoil his nature,
Nor does a fickle man, quick to tire, suit me.
Nor does the company of an ignoble suit me.

And every anguish, however long its ordeal,
Every hardship, though protracted be its distress,
Will one day have its gloom relieved and dispelled.
Will one day get relieved and its gloom dispelled.
