قُلتُ وَقَد أَقبَلَت بِخالٍ

قُلتُ وَقَد أَقبَلَت بِخالٍ

يَسبي عَلى خَدِّها اليَسارِ

يَسبي عَلى خَدِّها اليَسارِ

I said, as she approached with a beauty mark

I said, as she approached with a mole,

That captivates, upon her left cheek:

Taking captive her left cheek,

سُبحانَكَ اللَهُ حارَ طَرفي

سُبحانَكَ اللَهُ حارَ طَرفي

يا مولِجَ اللَيلِ في النَهارِ

يا مولِجَ اللَيلِ في النَهارِ

Glory be to You, O God! My gaze became bewildered,

Glory be to You, O Allah, my eyes are perplexed,

O You who bring the night into the day!

O One who makes the night enter the day.
