يا بَني الأَعرابِ إِنَّ ال
تُركَTurks قَدindeed جارَتacted unjustly بَنوهاtheir sons
تُركَ قَد جارَت بَنوها
O sons of the Bedouins, indeed the
Turks' sons have been unjust.
عَقرَبواthey made scorpion-like الأَصداغَthe temple-locks حيناًfor a while
عَقرَبوا الأَصداغَ حيناً
وَلِحَينيand to my ruin ثَعبَنوهاthey turned them into serpents
وَلِحَيني ثَعبَنوها
They made their temple-locks scorpions for a while,
And, to my ruin, turned them into serpents.
