وَهَل هَمَّ يَوماً شيركوهُ بِجِلَّقٍ

إِلى الصَيدِ إِلّا اِرتاعَ في مِصرَ شاوَرُ

إِلى الصَيدِ إِلّا اِرتاعَ في مِصرَ شاوَرُ

And did Shirkuh ever resolve, in Jilliq,

Never once did Sherkoh desire

to hunt without Shawar taking fright in Egypt?

To hunt except the land of Egypt quaked in fear

هُوَ المَلِكُ المَنصورُ وَالأَسَدُ الَّذي

شَذى ذِكرِهِ في الشَرقِ وَالغَربِ سائِرُ
