رُوَيدَكُمُ يا لُصوصُ الشَآمِ

رُوَيدَكُمُ يا لُصوصُ الشَآمِ

فَإِنّي لَكُم ناصِحٌ في مَقالي

فَإِنّي لَكُم ناصِحٌ في مَقالي

Easy now, you thieves of Syria!

Easy now, O thieves of al-Sham!

For I offer you sincere counsel in these words:

For I offer you sincere counsel in my words.

وَإِيّاكُمُ مِن سَمِيِّ النَبِيِّ

وَإِيّاكُمُ مِن سَمِيِّ النَبِيِّ

يوسُفَ رَبِّ الحِجا وَالجَمالِ

يوسُفَ رَبِّ الحِجا وَالجَمالِ

And beware the Prophet’s namesake—

And beware the namesake of the prophet

Joseph, lord of wisdom and beauty.

Yusuf, master of wisdom and beauty:

فَذاكَ مُقَطَّعُ أَيدي النِساءِ

فَذاكَ مُقَطَّعُ أَيدي النِساءِ

وَهَذا مُقَطَّعُ أَيدي الرِجالِ

وَهَذا مُقَطَّعُ أَيدي الرِجالِ

For that one made the women cut their hands,

For that one caused women to cut their hands,

While this one cuts off the hands of men.

and this one cuts off the hands of men.
