أَقولُ وَالأَتراكُ قَد أَزمَعَت

أَقولُ وَالأَتراكُ قَد أَزمَعَت

مِصرَ إِلى حَربِ الأَعاريبِ

مِصرَ إِلى حَربِ الأَعاريبِ

I say, as the Turks have resolved to go

I say, and the Turks have intended

to Egypt, to wage war against the Bedouin Arabs:

Egypt towards the war of the Bedouins

رَبِّ كَما مَلَّكتَها يوسُفَ

رَبِّ كَما مَلَّكتَها يوسُفَ

الصِدّيقَ مِن أَولادِ يَعقوبِ

الصِدّيقَ مِن أَولادِ يَعقوبِ

My Lord, just as You granted Yusuf rule over it,

My Lord, as you gave it to Joseph

the ever-truthful, of Yaqub’s offspring,

The truthful, from the sons of Jacob

يَملِكُها في عَصرِنا يوسُفُ الصادِقُ

يَملِكُها في عَصرِنا يوسُفُ الصادِقُ

مِن أَولادِ أَيّوبِ

مِن أَولادِ أَيّوبِ

may Yusuf the truthful rule it in our age,

It will be ruled in our time by Joseph the honest

مَن لَم يَزَل ضَرّاب هامِ العِدا

مَن لَم يَزَل ضَرّاب هامِ العِدا

حَقّاً وَضَرّابَ العَراقيبِ

حَقّاً وَضَرّابَ العَراقيبِ

he who has ever been a smiter of foes’ heads,

He who has always been striking the zealous enemies
