Suleiman, you are the king, of old and anew.

Solomon, you are the eternal king, past and future

Yours, too, is dominion, and Suleiman is the sovereign.

The kingdom is also yours, as well as kingship, O Solomon

ايا ملك الدنيا وانسان عينها

ولو لم تكن ما كان للعين انسان

O king of the world and pupil of its eye,

O king of the world and pupil of its eye

And had you not existed, the eye would have had no pupil.

Without you, the eye would have no pupil

بكيوان هذا الملك قد قمت سرمدا

بكيوان هذا الملك قد قمت سرمدا

ولو لم تقم ما قام للملك كيوان

ولو لم تقم ما قام للملك كيوان

You have forever upheld this kingdom’s Saturn,

With your pillar this kingdom rose forever

And had you not stood, no Saturn would have stood for the kingdom.

Without your rising no pillar would rise for the kingdom

لقد كان سلطانا سميُّك للورى

لقد كان سلطانا سميُّك للورى

قديما وانت اليوم للناس سلطان

قديما وانت اليوم للناس سلطان

Your namesake was indeed a sovereign over humankind

Your lofty name was sovereign for mankind

Long ago; and today you are sovereign over the people.

In the past, and you are sovereign for people today

فليست علاً الا وانت لها علاً

فليست علاً الا وانت لها علاً

ولا شأن الا حيث انت له شان

ولا شأن الا حيث انت له شان

For there is no eminence but you are its eminence,

No glory exists but you are its summit

And no distinction except where you are its distinction.

No affair occurs but where you have stature
