I could muster no patience apart from you, O Hasan, beauty of the gazelles,
I did not ask for patience without you, O beauty of the gazelle
Nor apart from sweet-voiced Muhammad, the songbird.
And without Muhammad the melodious

You both went far from me, and my spring pasture withered.

Return with your generosity so that my wood may blossom

O my two sons, it is no use seeking solace for your absence
My children, no excuses keep you from me
In the cloud's son or the grape cluster's daughter.
Neither the son of the cloud nor the daughter of the cluster
