Sol 6.1

  1. فاحت بطيب شذاكم فيحاؤكم

    فلذاك قد قالوا هي الفيحاء

    Your Fayḥāʾ was fragrant with your sweet scent;

    So they have said, “She is al-Fayḥāʾ.”

  2. وعلت علو النجم حلتكم بكم

    فسمت لكم أرض بها وسماء

    Through you, your town rose to the height of the stars;

    Thus her earth and sky rose high for you.

  3. وتزينت بحلي حسن صنيعكم

    حتى لحلتها عنت صنعاء

    She adorned herself with the jewels of your fine deeds,

    Until Sana'a bowed before her robe.

  4. لم أستعض عنكم بصحبة غيركم

    هل عنه في عطش يعارض الماء

    I sought no substitute for you in the company of others;

    When one thirsts, is water ever exchanged for anything else?
