وحسبيَand it suffices me فخراًas a source of pride أنَّthat ليI have فيamong الورىhumankind أخاًa brother
وحسبيَ فخراً أنَّ لي في الورى أخاً
شددتI strengthened بهthrough him أزريmy back علىin رغمdefiance of حاسديmy envier
شددت به أزري على رغم حاسدي
And it is pride enough for me that I have a brother among humankind,
It is my pride and joy that I have a brother in this world
Through whom I have strengthened my back, in defiance of my envier—
With whom I strengthened my resolve despite my envious foes
لواءthe banner of ذرىthe heights of عزيmy glory وصارمand the keen sword of عزمتيmy resolve
لواء ذرى عزي وصارم عزمتي
وبدرand the full moon of سماthe sky of سعديmy good fortune وبطشةand the striking might of ساعديmy arm
وبدر سما سعدي وبطشة ساعدي
The banner of my glory’s heights and the keen sword of my resolve,
The banner of my glory and my stern determination
And the full moon of my fortune’s sky, and the striking might of my arm.
