  1. إذا كان هذا حال من كان قبلنا

    فأنا على آثارهم نتلاحق

    If this is the state of those who came before us,

    then we follow one another in their footsteps.

  2. ومن صاحب الأيام في العمر مدة

    فلذاتها لا بد منه طوالق

    And whoever keeps company with the days for a span of life,

    then their pleasures are inevitably divorced from him.
