لتحقيق برهان الوجود مطالب

محصّلها سبع فَخُذْ كَشْفَ لَبْسِهِ

Establishing the proof of existence has its requisites;

They number seven; so take this clarification of its obscurity.

فأوّلها في العّد إثباتُ زائد

وثانيها إبطال القيام بنفسه

The first in the count is to establish something additional;

And the second, to rule out its subsisting by itself.

وثالثها في العدّ إثبات نقلة

ورابع إبطال الكمون وعكسِه

ورابع إبطال الكمون وعكسِه

And the third in the count, to establish a transition;

And the fourth, to refute latency and its opposite.

وإبطال عدم للقديم وسادس

لزوم مزيد في المحلّ لجنسه

لزوم مزيد في المحلّ لجنسه

And to rule out nonexistence for the beginningless; and the sixth is

The necessary presence of something additional of its kind in the substrate.

فَزَاحِمْ بحفظ العلم وَاعْنَ بدرسه

And the seventh is to rule out the possibility of infinite regress;

So vie in memorizing knowledge, and apply yourself to its study.
