ياO عارفاًlearned one منهfrom him فاحwafted عَرْفٌa fragrance
يا عارفاً منه فاح عَرْفٌ
فيin أنفthe nose أهلthe people of الوجودexistence عَاطِرْfragrant
في أنف أهل الوجود عَاطِرْ
O gnostic, whose fragrance has wafted forth,
O learned one, from whom a fragrance has wafted,
perfume the nostrils of all creation!
Fragrant in the nostrils of all who exist.
لوif لمnot تكنyou were فيin العلومthe sciences بَحْراًan ocean
لو لم تكن في العلوم بَحْراً
لَمْnot نُؤْتَwe were given منfrom عندكwith you الجوَاهِرْthe jewels
لَمْ نُؤْتَ من عندك الجوَاهِرْ
Had you not been an ocean of learning,
Had you not been an ocean of learning,
we would not have been granted jewels from you.
We would not have been given the jewels from you.
فَوَفِّso fulfill بالوعدto the promise مَعْwith رسولٍa messenger
فَوَفِّ بالوعد مَعْ رسولٍ
أتاكcame to you إنّيindeed I بذاكfor that شاكِرْgrateful
أتاك إنّي بذاك شاكِرْ
So fulfill your promise to a messenger
So fulfill the promise through a messenger
who has come to you; for that I am indeed grateful.
