ياO مرحباًwelcome بالوردto the rose فيin إبَّانِهits season
وبموكبِand to the procession الآمالِof hopes فيin بستانِهits garden
O welcome to the rose in its season,
O welcome the rose in its prime,
And to the procession of hopes in its garden.
And the procession of hopes in its garden.
ياO محسناًbenefactor للعينِto the eye فيin إقبالهits arrival
ماnever تنتهيhave their fill العينانِthe two eyes منof إحسانِهits bounty
O you who delight the eye upon your arrival,
O delight for the eye in its appearance,
The eyes never have their fill of your bounty.
The eyes never tire of its kindness.

يرويwaters الربيعَthe spring النَضرَverdant منfrom أشجانِهits sorrows
Tell me: is this dew a bewildered tear,
Tell me, are these tears a wanderer?
Watering the verdant spring from its sorrows?
Watering the tender spring from its branches?

يبكيweeps عليكَfor you وأنتَwhile you فيin أحضانِهits embrace
How strange that, with beauty filling its eyes,
Wondrous is he, beauty fills his eyes,
It weeps for you while you are in its embrace.
He cries for you while you're in his arms.
إنّيindeed I رأيتُكَsaw you بعدماafter وَلَّىdeparted الصِبَاyouth
فبكىso wept الشبابُyouth علىfor ربيعِthe springtime زمانِهof its days
Indeed, I saw you after youth had departed,
I saw you after the youth had passed,
So youth wept for the springtime of its days.
So the prime of life wept for its spring.

And I saw your wedding amid scenes of its delight,
I saw your wedding in its intimate joy,
With birds singing sweetly upon its boughs.
The birds chirping on its branches.

منfrom كأسِهits cup أوor وقفةًa moment فيin جانِهits tavern (conjectural; unclear as written)
Then my soul looked about, hoping for a drop
So my soul glanced, hoping for a drop
From its cup, or a moment in its [tavern?—word unclear].
From his cup, or a pause by his side.
