O dear absent one, far away,
O absent beloved in the distance
my night was ruined, and my joy was lost.
My night is bleak and my joy is gone

In my soul lay dormant longings

Saying hush, for God's sake, do not ask
for both of us are in distress without her.”
Without it we both despair

Where is that face that sends forth the light
Where is that face that shines light
and whose radiance evokes serenity?
And glows with clarity serene
