O qibla of hidden love,

O kiss of secret love

And the Kaaba of buried hope,

And shrine of buried hope

إني ذكرتك باكياً

والأفق مُغبر الجبينِ

والأفق مُغبر الجبينِ

Indeed, I remembered you, weeping,

I remembered you weeping

And the horizon's brow was dust-covered,

With the horizon dusting my forehead

والشمس تبدو وهي تغـ

والشمس تبدو وهي تغـ

ـرب شبه دامعة العيون

ـرب شبه دامعة العيون

And the sun appears, as it is set-

The sun appears as it sets

-ting, like one with tearful eyes.

Like a teary-eyed one

أمسيت أرقبها على

أمسيت أرقبها على

صخر وموج البحر دوني

صخر وموج البحر دوني

I spent the evening watching her from

I watched it on the rock

A rock, with the sea's waves below me.

With the sea waves below me

والبحر مجنون العبا

والبحر مجنون العبا

ب يهيج ثائره جنوني

ب يهيج ثائره جنوني

And the sea is mad in its bil-

The playful, insane sea

-lows; its fury stirs my madness.

Stirs up my madness

ورضاكِ أنتِ وقايتي

ورضاكِ أنتِ وقايتي

فإذا غضبتِ فمَنَ يقيني

فإذا غضبتِ فمَنَ يقيني

And your own favor is my protection;

Your consent is my protection
