مهما تسامى موضعُك

وعلا مكانك في الوجود

However high your station soars,

No matter how high your place rises

however lofty your place in existence,

And how lofty your existence is,

فأنا خيالك أتبعُك

still I am your shadow, following you,

For I, your imagination, follow you,

thirsty, sipping what you bestow.

Thirstily sipping your overflowing generosity.

Moon of wishes, O moon,

indeed, I bear a grief that makes me ill.

فاسكب ضياءك في دمي

You are the cure held in reserve,

so pour your radiance into my blood.

from what I suffer on earth.

قدحي ترنَّق فاسقني

قدح الشعاع مطهّر

قدح الشعاع مطهّر

My cup has grown turbid; so give me to drink

For my cup has tarnished, so quench my thirst,

a purified cup of radiance.

With the purifying cup of your rays.

واهاً لأحلامٍ طوال

وأنا وأنتَ بمعزلِ

وأنا وأنتَ بمعزلِ

Ah, for long dreams,

Woe to prolonged dreams,

with you and me in seclusion,

While you and I are secluded,

نَعلو على قمم الجبال

نَعلو على قمم الجبال

ونرى العوالم من عَلِ

ونرى العوالم من عَلِ

rising above the mountain peaks,

Rising above the mountain tops,

and seeing the worlds from on high.

And seeing the worlds from above.
