تن كالزهور نواضرُ

A flock of houris, enchant-

A flock of houris most fair,

ing, fresh as flowers.

Like blossoms their visage bare,

ألهمنني وأحطن بي

فجرى بشعري الخاطرُ

They inspired me and surrounded me,

Inspired me and encircled round,

so thought flowed through my verse.

So flowed my thoughts profound,

ألهمنني وشككن بي

ونسين أني شاعرُ

ونسين أني شاعرُ

They inspired me and doubted me,

Inspired me and made doubt,

and forgot that I am a poet.

That I a poet stout,

فإذا اعترفن فإنني

فإذا اعترفن فإنني

للفضل دوماً ذاكرُ

للفضل دوماً ذاكرُ

So if they acknowledge it, then I

When they my merit attest,

am always mindful of kindness.

To their grace I'm ever blest,

وأنا لفلة عارفٌ
