A dawn broke upon me in radiance.

And my heart spurs me toward a day of meeting.

And my heart spurs me on for a day of meeting

فطردتُ ثقل السهد لا ثقل الكرى

فطردتُ ثقل السهد لا ثقل الكرى

قلبي بوثبته يسابق ساقي

قلبي بوثبته يسابق ساقي

So I cast off the weight of sleeplessness, not the weight of slumber.

So I cast off the heaviness of sleep, not the heaviness of worries

My heart, with its leap, races my leg.

My heart with its leaps races my feet

عيناي أم قلبي أم القدم التي

عيناي أم قلبي أم القدم التي

حثّت خطاها في مجال سباق

حثّت خطاها في مجال سباق

Is it my eyes, or my heart, or the foot that

Is it my eyes, or my heart, or the foot that

Hastened its steps in the arena of a race?

Hastened its steps in a field of racing

هذا قليل قد شرحت دفينه

هذا قليل قد شرحت دفينه

وعلى ذكائك أنت فهم الباقي

وعلى ذكائك أنت فهم الباقي

This is a little whose hidden meaning I have explained;

This little I have explained of its treasures

And understanding the rest is up to your own wit.

And it is up to your intelligence to understand the rest
