إذا الحادثات بلغن النهى

إذا الحادثات بلغن النهى

وكادت لهن تذوبُ المهج

وكادت لهن تذوبُ المهج

When calamities reach their utmost limits,

When tribulations reach their peak

and souls nearly melt because of them,

And almost melt the hearts

وحل البلاء وقل العزاءُ

وحل البلاء وقل العزاءُ

فعند التناهي يكونُ الفرج

فعند التناهي يكونُ الفرج

and affliction descends and solace dwindles,

When misfortune arrives and consolation decreases

then, at the utmost extremity, relief comes.

Deliverance will come when matters reach the extreme
