They left to distant lands though once

Them in times of prosperity, when they were many.

I helped them in prosperous times

فلم يك في يدي منهم ومما

ذخرتهم له إلا الغرور

So I had nothing in hand from them, or from what

Of all that I had saved for them

I had kept them for, except delusion.

Naught remains but my vanity
