رميتُ بنفسي دونكم في المهالك

Did you not know, O clan of Fihr son of Malik,

Did you not know, O clan of Fahr ibn Malik

That I hurled myself into deadly perils in your defense?

I threw myself into perils for your sake

بلى فاعلمي يا آل فهر بأنني

بلى فاعلمي يا آل فهر بأنني

أخوكِ الذي أعطاكِ حقَّ إخائك

أخوكِ الذي أعطاكِ حقَّ إخائك

Indeed—know then, O clan of Fihr, that I am

Yes, know O clan of Fahr that I

Your brother, who gave you the due of your brotherhood;

Am your brother who gave you your right of brotherhood

أخوك الذي يقري عدوك صارماً

أخوك الذي يقري عدوك صارماً

حساماً ويقري درهُ في شفائك

حساماً ويقري درهُ في شفائك

Your brother, who serves your enemy a keen-edged blade,

Your brother who fiercely attacks your enemy

A cutting sword, and offers his bounty for your healing.

With a sword, and fiercely attacks his abdomen for your healing

أجودُ بمالي دونَ مالكِ تارةً

أجودُ بمالي دونَ مالكِ تارةً

وطوراً أقيمُ الغرَّ تحتَ لوائك

وطوراً أقيمُ الغرَّ تحتَ لوائك

At times I give freely of my wealth to safeguard yours,

I give my wealth for your sake at times

And at other times I marshal the noble ones beneath your banner.

And at times I carry the war banner beneath your flag
