يا عائبي عند أعدائي ليرضيهم

وبائعي بيسيرٍ ماله خطرُ

O you who censure me before my enemies, that it may please them,

O you who fault me before my enemies to please them,

and sell me for a paltry price of no worth—

And sell me for a trifle of no worth:

أظهرتَ أنكَ لا أنتَ العدو ولا

أظهرتَ أنكَ لا أنتَ العدو ولا

أنت الولي الذي يصفى ويدخرُ

أنت الولي الذي يصفى ويدخرُ

you have shown that you are neither the enemy nor

You have shown that you are neither the enemy nor

the loyal friend who is chosen and treasured.

The friend who is cherished and kept in reserve.

فما تحولُ من سلمى ولا أجأ

فما تحولُ من سلمى ولا أجأ

ركنٌ ولا خسفت شمسٌ ولا قمر

ركنٌ ولا خسفت شمسٌ ولا قمر

For from neither Salmā nor Ajā has there shifted

So from neither Salma nor Aja has shifted

a single crag, nor has the sun or the moon been eclipsed.

A mountain flank, nor has sun or moon been eclipsed.
