نَسوقwe bring إِلىto حِماكَyour sanctuary مِثالَa likeness of قَومٍa people
مَلَكَتَyou possessed قُلوبَهُمtheir hearts مُلكَpossession اليَدَينِthe two hands
We bring to your sanctuary the likeness of a people
We present to you an example of a people
Whose hearts you have taken possession of with both hands.
Whose hearts are ruled by the reign of their hands
أَذابَهُمُit melted them هَواكlove for you فَلَمso did not يَزالواthey cease to be
بِحُكمِby the decree of الشَوقِlonging رَسماًa trace بَعدَafter عَينِsubstance
Love for you has melted them, so they remain,
Melted by passion for you, they have not ceased
By longing's decree, a trace where once was substance.
To be, by the rule of yearning, an image beyond the eye
وَإِنand if أَنكَرَتyou deny دَعواهُمtheir claim فَكُلٌthen each one

And if you deny their claim, each one
And if you deny their claim, each one
Supports his claim with two witnesses.
Supports his claim with two witnesses
