زُرvisit مَضجَعاًa resting place قَدalready ثَوىhas come to rest فيهِin it بنُthe son of جرجسJirjis مِنamong
زُر مَضجَعاً قَد ثَوى فيهِ بنُ جرجس مِن
بَنِيthe descendants of الشُّوَيرِيِّal-Shuwayri آلِthe family of الخَيرgoodness وَالجاهِand prestige
بَنِي الشُّوَيرِيِّ آلِ الخَير وَالجاهِ
Visit a resting place where the son of Jirjis lies, one of
Visit a grave where the son of Jirjis
the descendants of al-Shuwayri, a family of goodness and prestige.
Of the Shuwayri family, people of goodness and glory
وَقلand say سَقاكَmay it water you الرِّضَىfavor فيماin what نؤرِّخُهُwe record its date
وَقل سَقاكَ الرِّضَى فيما نؤرِّخُهُ
أَياO ثَرىearth فيهِin it حَلَتhas settled نِعمةَNi‘mat (blessing) اللَّهِAllah (God)
أَيا ثَرى فيهِ حَلَت نِعمةَ اللَّهِ
And say, as we mark the date: 'May favor water you,
Lies buried, and say: May you be fully satisfied
O earth where Ni‘mat Allah has come to rest.'
O soil, with the blessing of God that came your way
