هَذاthis ضَريحُtomb كَريمِa noble man قَومٍa people فَوقَهُabove it
هَذا ضَريحُ كَريمِ قَومٍ فَوقَهُ
تُتلَىare recited المَراحمُprayers for mercy فيin ضُحىًforenoon وأَصيلِand late afternoon
تُتلَى المَراحمُ في ضُحىً وأَصيلِ
This is the tomb of a noble man of his people; above it
This is the tomb of a generous man of a people, above it
Prayers for mercy are recited in the forenoon and late afternoon.
Prayers are recited at dawn and dusk.
مِنfrom آلِthe family of زِلزلَZilzil مِنamong سراةِthe nobles of عَشيرةٍa clan
مِن آلِ زِلزلَ مِن سراةِ عَشيرةٍ
قَدindeed كانَhe was فيهِمamong them دُرَّةَthe pearl of الأكليلِthe crown
قَد كانَ فيهِم دُرَّةَ الأكليلِ
Of the house of Zilzil, among the nobles of a clan,
From the family of Zilzal, from the elite clan,
He was among them the pearl of the crown.
Who was the crown jewel of the crown.
وَلَقَدand indeed قَضىhe died بِاللَهِby God مُنتَقِلاًpassing إِلىto
وَلَقَد قَضى بِاللَهِ مُنتَقِلاً إِلى
دارِthe abode of النَعيمِbliss فَحَلَّand he settled خَيرَthe finest مَقِيلِresting place
دارِ النَعيمِ فَحَلَّ خَيرَ مَقِيلِ
And indeed, by God, he died, passing to
And he has certainly passed away with God, moving on to
The abode of bliss, and settled in the finest resting place.
The abode of bliss, arriving at the best refuge.
وَبِوَفدِهِand for his arrival أَرِّخrecord the date ملائكةَthe angels of العُلاthe heights
وَبِوَفدِهِ أَرِّخ ملائكةَ العُلا
وافَتcame فَحَيَّتand greeted وَجهَthe face of جِبرائيلِGabriel
وافَت فَحَيَّت وَجهَ جِبرائيلِ
And mark the date of his arrival: the angels on high
And with his delegation, the angels of the Most High dated,
Came and greeted the face of Gabriel.
They came, greeted, and met the face of Gabriel.
