هَذاthis النَطاسِيُّthe skilled physician الَّذيwho مِنfrom بَعدِهِafter him
هَذا النَطاسِيُّ الَّذي مِن بَعدِهِ
بَكَتِwept العُيونُthe eyes بِدَمعِwith tears كُلِّevery عَليلِsufferer
بَكَتِ العُيونُ بِدَمعِ كُلِّ عَليلِ
This is the skilled physician, after whose passing
Eyes wept with the tears of every sufferer.
قَدindeed كانَwas مَملوكa slave to المَنافعِbenefits مالِكاًa master
قَد كانَ مَملوك المَنافعِ مالِكاً
لِلحَمدِof praise مَعروفاًrenowned بِكُلfor every جَميلِnoble deed
لِلحَمدِ مَعروفاً بِكُل جَميلِ
He was a slave to beneficence, a master
Of praise, renowned for every noble deed.
وَلَقَدand indeed مَضىhe departed فَثَوىthen dwelt باكرمِin the noblest جَنَّةٍparadise
وَلَقَد مَضى فَثَوى باكرمِ جَنَّةٍ
طابَتgrew sweet فَضَّمَتand so embraced مِنهُfrom him خَيرthe finest نَزيلِguest
طابَت فَضَّمَت مِنهُ خَير نَزيلِ
And indeed he departed, then dwelt in the noblest paradise;
It grew sweet and embraced in him the finest guest.
وَبِوَفدِهِand at his arrival أَرِّخrecord the date مَلائكةَthe angels العُلىof the heights
وَبِوَفدِهِ أَرِّخ مَلائكةَ العُلى
حَيَّتgreeted جَميعاًall together وَجهَthe face of ميخائيلِMikhail
حَيَّت جَميعاً وَجهَ ميخائيلِ
And record his arrival’s date: the angels on high
All greeted the face of Mikhail.
