The thousand danced on the pliant boughs
When the bearer of goblets coursed through the garden.
When the cupbearer walked in the garden.

Smiling to reveal pearls of trickling rain.
Shedding the pearls of vivacious life.

And they bloomed between pink and crimson.

Came from praising the bearer of lofty, most sacred honor:
Was in praise of the most noble and holy.

Unsullied by the taints of the days.
From the failings of days that did not defile it.

The most splendid raiment of piety.

Which kept vigil to awaken drowsy eyes.
His vigilance awoke drowsy eyes.

Keen of intellect, the crescents of his thought emerged,
The steeds of guidance raced, his thoughts prepared,
So he shot at time's calamities as from bows.
He cast aside the misfortunes of fate.

The stalwart of diligence bowed his head
Difficulties yielded to it with bowed heads.
When hardships confronted him with bowed head.

When he takes the lead saying in an assembly,
You find Quss within that gathering.
You would find a priest in that assembly.

When he stood above the pulpits, his words
By his words in the heart of smooth, lifeless matter.
Humbled the heart of the smoothest stone.

His guidance you would treasure as a word
At the site of a sanctuary held sacred by him.
In the station of a consecrated altar.

As embroidery adorns a robe of fine silk.
As embroidery adorns a silken robe.
