قَدindeed ناحَlamented آلُthe family of حَبيبHabib حَوّاHawwa راحِلاًone departed
قَد ناحَ آلُ حَبيب حَوّا راحِلاً
وَلَّىhe departed فَفازَand so he attained بَرَحمةٍwith mercy وَنَعيمِand bliss
وَلَّى فَفازَ بَرَحمةٍ وَنَعيمِ
The family of Habib Hawwa has mourned one departed.
The family of the beloved wept as he departed,
He departed and gained mercy and bliss.
And went forth, attaining mercy and bliss.
رُكنٌa pillar لَقَدindeed هَدَمَتهُbrought him down عاصِفَةُthe storm of الرَّدىdeath
رُكنٌ لَقَد هَدَمَتهُ عاصِفَةُ الرَّدى
وَثَناهُand praise of him باقٍenduring لَيسَis not بِالمَهدومِbrought down
وَثَناهُ باقٍ لَيسَ بِالمَهدومِ
A pillar indeed brought down by the storm of death;
A pillar - torn down by the storm of demise,
Yet praise of him endures, not brought down.
Yet his legacy remains, undestroyed.
قَدindeed كانَhe was غَوثاًa help فيin الخُطوبِhardships وَمَقصِداًand one sought out
قَد كانَ غَوثاً في الخُطوبِ وَمَقصِداً
لِلخَيرِfor good مَرجوّاًlooked to لِكُلِّfor every عَظيمِweighty matter
لِلخَيرِ مَرجوّاً لِكُلِّ عَظيمِ
He was indeed a help in hardships and one sought out
He was a refuge in adversity, sought
For good, looked to for every weighty matter.
For good, hoped for by all the great.
وَلَقَدand indeed قَضىhe spent بِالبِرِّin righteousness مُدَّتَهُhis lifetime إِلىuntil
وَلَقَد قَضى بِالبِرِّ مُدَّتَهُ إِلى
أَنthat جاءَهُcame to him أَجَلُthe appointed hour of القَضاfate المَحتومِthe inevitable
أَن جاءَهُ أَجَلُ القَضا المَحتومِ
And indeed he spent his lifetime in righteousness, until
He lived in righteousness his allotted time
The appointed hour of inevitable fate came to him.
Until the destined end came to him.
لَبّىhe answered دُعاthe call of الباريthe Creator فَأَمسىand so he came to be عِندَهُwith Him
لَبّى دُعا الباري فَأَمسى عِندَهُ
ضَيفاًa guest كَريماًhonored فيin جِوارِthe company of كَريمِthe Generous One
ضَيفاً كَريماً في جِوارِ كَريمِ
He answered the Creator's call and came to be with Him,
He obeyed the Caller's summons and came
An honored guest in the company of the Generous One.
A noble guest, in the neighborhood of the noble.
وَهُنالكَand there التّاريخُthe chronogram أَعلَنَproclaimed صادِقاًtruthfully
وَهُنالكَ التّاريخُ أَعلَنَ صادِقاً
قَدindeed حَلَّsettled in عازَرَLazarus حِضنَthe bosom of إِبراهيمِAbraham
قَد حَلَّ عازَرَ حِضنَ إِبراهيمِ
And there the chronogram truthfully proclaimed:
And there did history truthfully proclaim:
Lazarus has come to dwell in Abraham's bosom.
Lazarus entered Abraham's bosom.
