Stop at a grave where a pious woman lies buried,

Who made the sons of Acre weep in sorrow for her departure.

A generous woman who spent her lifetime doing good,

And sincerely devoted her efforts to pleasing the All-Merciful.

This is the resident of Beirut who was wounded

Long ago by the sword of Damascus in its time of tyranny.

Three she left behind in their blood,

And how much blood her eyes shed in lamentation,

Until she died and departed toward bliss, having

Won her rest in the abode of her Lord.

And indeed, for Thecla, there spread—marking the date—

Clouds of kindness and divine favor over her resting place.
