    Sheikh Antoun al-Baridi lies at rest, lodged in

    a tomb—may God water it with His mercy, time after time.

    وَناحَ عَلَيهِ الفَضلُ وَالشِّيَمُ الغَرّا

    A generous man, mourned by the sword, the guest, and hospitality;

    And virtue and resplendent qualities lamented him.

    He departed, leaving sorrow in every heart,

    And he had attained his greatest wish in God's presence.

    So if one day you set the date in verse, say in it:

    O you who rest in the abode of bliss, glad tidings are yours!
