رُوزا فَتاةُ بَني عَبدِ المَسيحِ قَضَت
كَالغُصنِlike a branch قَدindeed قَصَفتَهُsnapped it راحةُthe palm القَدَرِof fate
كَالغُصنِ قَد قَصَفتَهُ راحةُ القَدَرِ

بِالأَمسِyesterday وافاكَcame to you غُصنٌa branch أَرِّخواrecord the date رَطِبٌfresh
بِالأَمسِ وافاكَ غُصنٌ أَرِّخوا رَطِبٌ
وَاليَومand today لاقَتكَmet you أَيديthe hands الدَهرِof time بِالثَمَرِwith fruit
وَاليَوم لاقَتكَ أَيدي الدَهرِ بِالثَمَرِ
Yesterday a fresh branch came to you (record the date),
Yesterday, a moist branch came to you
And today the hands of time have brought you fruit.
