Nakhla departed from the sons of al-Khawwam, journeying
He went away from the sons of Al-Khawam as a traveler
To his All-Forgiving Lord, along the most upright of paths.
To his Forgiving Lord, the one who guided the paths
وَغادرَand left behind فيهِin it كُلّevery عَينٍeye قَريحَةٍsore
وَغادرَ فيهِ كُلّ عَينٍ قَريحَةٍ

بِصَيِّبِ دَمعٍ فَوقَ مَثواهُ مُنهَلِ
And left every eye there sore
And left in it every teary eye
With a downpour of tears streaming over his resting place.
With a stream of tears over his burial ground

مَقَرّاً لاشتاتِ الفَضائلِ وَالفَضلِ
So visit his noble resting place, which through him became
So visit a grave of him, generously it became in the morning
An abode for manifold virtues and excellence.
A place of gathering of merits and superiority

وَجادَكِ ماَءُ الوَبلِ يا تُربَةَ النَخلِ
And say, recording the date: 'May the All-Merciful be pleased with you,
And say, "May God be pleased with you," recording
And may the downpour's water drench you, O soil of the palms!'
And your soil was generous, O soil of the palm tree
