رَحلَت جَواهرُ عَن بَني الخمَّارِ في

رَحلَت جَواهرُ عَن بَني الخمَّارِ في

سنِّ الثَمانِ كَمى قَضى باري الوَرى

سنِّ الثَمانِ كَمى قَضى باري الوَرى

Jawahir departed from the family of al-Khammar at

the age of eight, as the Creator of humankind decreed.

فَأَتى مُؤرِّخُها يُسَطِّر قائِلاً

فَأَتى مُؤرِّخُها يُسَطِّر قائِلاً

أَسَفاً عَلى دَفنِ الجَواهرِ في الثَرى

أَسَفاً عَلى دَفنِ الجَواهرِ في الثَرى

So her chronicler came to write, saying:

Alas for the burial of jewels in the earth!
