Indeed, the generous Ni‘mat Allah has departed to
Indeed, God's blessing has passed away

From the Kabbabah family, from a house of honor,
From the family of Kababah, from the honored house

Known for goodness, righteousness and benevolence

A noble-hearted man whom weighty affairs mourned, just as
Valiant, whose loss brought tears to the eyes
he made seekers of bounty shed streaming tears over him.
Of the leaders as they wept profusely for him
فَصاحَthen cried out أَرَّختُI recorded the date مَنone who قَدindeed راحَbegan يَندبُهُlamenting him
فَصاحَ أَرَّختُ مَن قَد راحَ يَندبُهُ

يا نِعمةَ اللَّهِ قَد وَلَّت فَواأَسَفا
Then—I recorded the date—one who had begun lamenting him cried:
So I cried out, I recorded the one whose death
O Ni‘mat Allah, you have gone—alas, what sorrow!
They mourn, “O God's blessing has passed, what a pity!”
