لَقَد وَرَدَ الحَبيبُ عَلى خَليلٍ

لَقَد وَرَدَ الحَبيبُ عَلى خَليلٍ

فَفاضَ بِهِ السُرورُ عَلى القُلوبِ

فَفاضَ بِهِ السُرورُ عَلى القُلوبِ

Indeed, the beloved has come to a friend;

The beloved has come to a bosom friend

and through him joy has overflowed over hearts.

So joy has overflowed in the hearts

وَإِذ طِبنا بِهِ أَرَّخَتُ حَظّاً

وَإِذ طِبنا بِهِ أَرَّخَتُ حَظّاً

نَعمنا بِالخَليلِ وَبِالحَبيبِ

نَعمنا بِالخَليلِ وَبِالحَبيبِ

And when we rejoiced in him, I marked the date of our good fortune:

And when we were delighted with him I obtained good fortune

We delighted in the friend and the beloved.

We were blessed with the bosom friend and the beloved
