برحمةِ اللَهِ في هَذا الضَريحِ فَتىً
كَالغُصنِlike a branch عَنfrom آلِthe family of فيليبيذِسٍPhilippides ذَهَباhe departed
كَالغُصنِ عَن آلِ فيليبيذِسٍ ذَهَبا
In God's mercy, a youth lies in this tomb,
In God's mercy in this tomb a youth
Like a branch, departed from the family of Philippides.
Like a branch from the house of Phillipides departed
فَانظُمso compose لِمَثواهُfor his resting place تاريخَa chronogram of العَزاءِmourning وَقُلand say
فَانظُم لِمَثواهُ تاريخَ العَزاءِ وَقُل
إِنindeed الخَلاصَsalvation لِقَسطنطينُfor Constantine قَدalready كُتِباbeen decreed
إِن الخَلاصَ لِقَسطنطينُ قَد كُتِبا
So compose for his resting place a chronogram of mourning, and say:
