أَذكى القُلوبَ وَمَدمَعٌ مِدرارُ

For the Farij family, after Lucia's passing, there is sorrow,

For the members of the Farraj family after Lucia there is grief

That has set hearts aflame, and an eye streaming with tears.

That stirs the hearts and brings forth flowing tears

مِن آلِ عَنحوري كَريمةُ مَعشرٍ

مِن آلِ عَنحوري كَريمةُ مَعشرٍ

غَدَرَت بِها في فَتكِها الأَقدارُ

Of the Anhoury family, a noble lady among her kin,

Of the honorable Anhoury family, a noble group

The fates betrayed her in their deadly assault.

Whose fates betrayed with their treachery

لَحِقَت بيوحَنّا الكَريمَ قَرينَها

فَحَواهُما عِندَ الإِلَه جِوارُ

She joined noble Yohanna, her husband,

She joined John the noble, her companion

So a refuge in God's presence embraced them both.

قَضَتِ الحَياةُ بِعيشةٍ مَبرورةٍ

حازَ النَعيمُ بِمثلِها الأَبرارُ

She spent her life in virtuous living,

Life passed with righteousness

Through such a life the righteous have attained bliss.

And Paradise was attained by the likes of her, the virtuous

فَاِختارَها اللَّهُ العَليُّ لِمُلكِهِ

فَاِختارَها اللَّهُ العَليُّ لِمُلكِهِ

أَرَّخَتُ وَالبُشرى لِمَن يُختارُ

أَرَّخَتُ وَالبُشرى لِمَن يُختارُ

So God Most High chose her for His kingdom.
