1. لميخائيلَ تمَّ قِرانُ سعدٍ

    غَدا نَجمُ الهَناءِ لَهُ قَرينا

    For Mikhail, an auspicious union was sealed;

    The star of joy became his companion.

  2. لَقَد أَمسَت بِهِ كَفُّ الثُرَيا

    تَصافِحُ مِن أَناملِهِ اليَمينا

    Indeed, through it, the hand of the Pleiades has come

    To clasp his right hand by the fingertips.

  3. وَحيَّتهُ الأَماني باسماتٍ

    فَاِبهجَتِ الخَواطِرَ وَالعُيونا

    And smiling wishes greeted him,

    And so gladdened minds and eyes.

  4. وَقَد وافَت مؤرخةً فَنادَت

    تُبَشِّرُ بِالرَفاءِ وَبِالبَنينا

    And they came, recording the date, then called out,

    Proclaiming glad tidings of marital harmony and sons.
