سُكِبَتwere poured عَلَيهِupon it مَراحِمُmercies الرّحمانِof the Most Merciful
For Khalil Basila stands a tomb of honor,
Upon which the mercies of the Most Merciful have been poured.
غُصنٌa branch لَقَدindeed كَسَرتْهُbroke it ريحُa wind مَنيَّةٍof death
إنَّindeed الرِّياحَthe winds كَواسِرُbreakers الأَغصانِof branches
A branch that the wind of death has broken;
Indeed, winds are breakers of branches.

Alas for a mother struck by his calamity:
She became a companion of sorrows over him.
